Mimata is an excellent place to sample Japanese home-style cooking created by a Japanese chef from Kyushu Island, who runs this restaurant on a small soi off Thonglor, Soi 9, with the help of his Thai wife. The restaurant is small and cozy and mainly patronized by Japanese nationals living in the neighborhood. There are occasional appearances by the owner’s small daughter and or one or more of the three resident cats Konnyaku, Chikuwa, and Tamago. The cooking is always good and the best part is: prices are very inexpensive. Booking is suggested. They have very good Shochu from Khushu Island available at 400 baht per 300 ml.
